How it Works
RBDS : The Theory
Bio-decontamination within a room or chamber is achieved by depositing an even layer of 'micro-condensation' of H2O2 over all surfaces. The term micro-condensation may be defined as a microscopic film of H2O2 , which being at a sub-micron level, is invisible to the naked eye. Scientific research has proven that it is this low temperature, residue-free deposit that actually deactivates micro-organisms during the gassing.

The RBDS Cycle
Even though each decontamination cycle is unique and contains different levels of equipment the basic cycle remains the same. RBDS comprises of 7 different stages with the actual cycle made up of 4 stages.

RBDS Equipment
Each RBDS cycle is run with a unique configuration of equipment called a “network”. The network consists of a control station or laptop to which we connect individual component’s as required. Each “network” is created from 4 discrete components. All these components are designed for ease of movement and to be completely self decontaminated during the RBDS cycle so they do not transfer pathogens from area to area.

Service Levels
RBDS is a service suitable for a wide variety of environments and decontamination challenges. As a result OMC Scientific offer a very flexible and customised range of service levels so that each client’s needs are suitably addressed.
Implant Team
This is a typical level of service provided to Hospitals. We place a team of engineers on site in a hospital reporting to infection control. Typically we will have agreed times of cover and equipment levels in advance.

Regular Scheduled Decon
We offer a contact where we provide regular scheduled decontamination typically after shut down or upgrade works.

New Facility Decon
Before a new sterile facility goes into production it requires a full decontamination. We work with the customer to schedule the decontamination cycle to suit their requirements.

Emergency Callout
This is our most common service. We get called out in the event of a spillage, facility shutdown due to contamination or outbreak in a hospital.
